Matthew Evangelista

Matthew Evangelista is the President White Professor of History and Political Science (Emeritus) at Cornell University, where he teaches courses in international and comparative politics. His current teaching and research interests focus on the relationship between gender, nationalism, and war; ethical and legal issues in international affairs (particularly, just war theory and international humanitarian law); transnational relations; and separatist movements. 

He has authored six books, including Allied Air Attacks and Civilian Harm in Italy, 1940–1945: Bombing Among Friends (2023), Gender, Nationalism, and War: Conflict on the Movie Screen (2011), and Law, Ethics, and the War on Terror (2008).
