Mary Fainsod Katzenstein is the Stephen and Evalyn Milman Professor Emerita of American Studies at Cornell University. She is the coeditor of Beyond Zero Tolerance: Discrimination and the Culture of the U.S. Military (with Judith Reppy, 1999) and the author of Faithful and Fearless: Moving Feminist Protest Inside the Church and the Military (1998). Her jointly authored articles on incarceration, taxing the poor, and private equity have been published in such journals as Perspectives on Politics and UCLA Criminal Justice Law Review.
