Kimberly D. McCorkle

East Tennessee State University

Kimberly D. McCorkle is Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). She joined ETSU in July 2021 after serving as a professor and academic administrator, including as Vice Provost, at the University of West Florida for 19 years. 

In her role at ETSU, Dr. McCorkle oversees the operations of the Division of Academic Affairs, which includes 10 academic colleges as well as the Quillen College of Medicine and the Gatton College of Pharmacy. The university enrolls over 13,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. During her tenure at ETSU, she has led efforts to establish the Go Beyond the Classroom initiative, which focuses on providing all students with the opportunity to participate in community engaged learning. She has also led the development of several new academic programs, a revision of the general education curriculum, and a reorganization of the colleges

She graduated from Louisiana State University where she earned a BA in English and was recognized as a Phi Beta Kappa graduate. She also earned her JD from the University of Florida College of Law. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1999. She has completed the Institute for Educational Management, Management Development Program, and the Seminar on the Leadership of the Faculty at the Harvard Institutes for Higher Education. She was also recently selected as part of the Leadership Tennessee Class IX.
