Author Claire Messud's seven novels include This Strange Eventful History, The Burning Girl, The Woman Upstairs, and The Emperor’s Children. She has also written a book of essays, Kant's Little Prussian Head & Other Reasons Why I Write: An Autobiography in Essays.
A recipient of a Guggenheim and Radcliffe Fellowships and the Strauss Living Award from the American Çï¿ûÊÓÆµ of Arts and Letters, Messud also teaches writing. She has taught at Amherst College, Kenyon College, University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, and other programs, and is now a Senior Lecturer in Fiction at Harvard.
